Craig J. Helmreich, ESQ.
I started practicing law in October 2000, at the nation’s preeminent transportation law firm. In my more than 20 years of practice with the firm, I routinely represented motor carriers, brokers, warehouses, and other transportation service providers in a practice that included cargo claims, freight charge issues, bankruptcy risk mitigation, contracts (transportation, business and technology), collections, FDA and related regulatory issues, and more. I have also represented select businesses and individuals on non-transportation matters, including business litigation, preference claim defense, contract drafting, negotiation, and more.
After enjoying working remotely in 2020 and 2021, I sought a different way to practice, one that better fits my vision for my next 20 years as an attorney. I thrived working alone from home, without the commute or the distractions of a large office environment.
It was with this goal in mind, that I formed Helmreich Law LLC. When you call our office, I’m typically the person who answers the phone. There is no commercial office space - I’m working from home where I’ve enjoyed working the last year-and-a-half. Simple. Streamlined. Efficient. This structure allows me to decide who to work for, and what projects to accept, to work hourly, or to quote flat fees when appropriate for your legal project.
As we expand to continue to serve the needs of our growing client base, we intend to keep these founding principles in mind. Hiring talent where that talent can be found and allowing our team to not only work from where they want to work but to define how the practice of law fits into their broader life. skye Lingenfelter, esq.
Skye is an associate attorney at Helmreich Law. Skye attended law school on a full scholarship and graduated early, in December of 2020, from Indiana University Robert McKinney School of Law.
Prior to law school, Skye graduated cum laude from the University of Southern Indiana, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Skye also obtained her master’s degree in psychology from Lipscomb University, in Nashville, TN, where she graduated summa cum laude. In college, Skye not only excelled academically (receiving the president’s counsel academic excellence award), she was also an accomplished golfer. Skye won multiple events as an individual, placed 7th at nationals, and she was both an honorable-mention all-American, and a multi-year all conference player. During her time at Lipscomb University, Skye coached the women’s golf team and was the youngest division I golf coach in the country. Later, during law school, Skye co-founded and launched the clothing label Smells Like Crime, Co., where she currently holds the positions of co-owner and chief executive officer.
Skye joined Helmreich Law in the fall of 2021. Skye is essential to our contract, cargo claim, and litigation practice areas, among others.
Skye is licensed in state of Tennessee, and she practices from her home in Philadelphia, PA.

Sarah Smith
Sarah is our Firm Director and Case Manager. She leads the administrative and business aspects of Helmreich Law, including general assistant support, accounting, operations and human resources.
Prior to joining Helmreich Law, Sarah was a legal assistant with an accumulation of 19 years of experience in state and federal litigation. Sarah’s early history includes general assistant and office management within a general practice firm, with focus on family law, criminal defense and personal injury. She went on to spend 14 years with one of the nation’s leading transportation firms, with particular focus on trial court litigation of personal injury, commercial and business disputes, wrongful death and insurance coverage disputes on behalf of motor carriers.
Sarah’s strong background in motor carrier litigation, meticulous attention to detail, organization and overall extensive experience makes her an instrumental part of the Helmreich Law team.
Sarah lives in central Indiana with her husband, son and three dogs. She has a passion for fitness, boating, and is an advocate for animal rescues.

Megan K. Bolt, ESQ.
Megan is a graduate of Ball State University, cum laude, and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. While in law school she received the Resident Merit Scholarship. Megan has a broad base of experience in civil litigation, criminal prosecution as a major felony prosecutor, and criminal defense.
Megan lives in Anderson, Indiana, and Spring through Fall, can be spotted cruising on windy roads in her Corvette.
Megan is licensed to practice law in Indiana.
